Entech Instruments Demonstrates That SF6 Recovery From Canisters
Is Now Possible
June 26, 2001, Simi Valley, CA.
Entech Instruments Inc. (“Entech”), a leading supplier of canister based sampling equipment for the measurement of VOCs in air, and analytical instrumentation for measurement of volatile compounds in air by GC and GCMS, today announced that it had demonstrated that SF6 can be collected and recovered from its Silonite fused silica canisters. Furthermore, SF6 could be effectively analysised using Entech’s their 3 stage cryogenic concentration system. Enhanced data collection is also possible by establishing more sampling points than was possible previously.
Art Hentschel, Entech Instruments’ Product Manager commented, “This has tremendous implications in the fields of air modeling, indoor air quality, mine safety and the use of SF6 for tracer studies. Canister sampling could cut the cost of such studies by eliminating the need for on site analytical analysis of SF6.”
