Silonite Loops - The Right Choice!

Silonite is a unique fused silica coating that reduces the surface activity of stainless steel. When applied to the inside of stainless steel loops, chemical inertness is greatly improved. Combining the durability of stainless steel with the inertness of fused silica creates the perfect solution for real world chemical applications.

 

What makes Silonite so unique? Unlike other coatings, Silonite provides a thinner, higher density barrier that prevents chemicals from reaching the metal oxides on the interior tubing walls. The smooth coating results in an even, laminar flow creating a lower pressure drop while discouraging the deposition of high molecular weight contaminants. This helps to maintain a clean flowpath while preserving the inert, non-adsorptive properties of the tubing.

 

Silonite loopscan be further deactivated by adding a cross-liked layer of methyl siloxane on the surface. Our deactivated Silonite loops have a very thin, low bleed coating that improves inertness for chromatography applications. Polar and reactive compounds show better GC injection profiles with reduced tailing.
