PAMS & Air Toxics (TO Methods) Sampling
Entech's Silonite™ technology is at the heart
of our 1800 dual channel sampler. Unpassivated stainless
steel sampling systems can result in compound losses
in excess of 80% in down the pipe studies. Only Entech's
Silonite™ coated stainless steel flow path makes
a sampler as inert as Entech's Silonite™ coated
stainless steel canisters. more...

PAMS, Air Toxics (TO Methods) & Soil Vapor Analysis
Entech's Silonite™ technology is at the heart
of our 7100A Preconcentrator. The ultra inert flowpath
is ideal for PAMS, TO14 & TO15. So inert, even formaldehyde
(a TO15 listed compound) can be recovered and analyzed
from Entech's Silonite™ coated stainless steel
canisters, without dirivization. This can eliminate
the need for separate TO11 sampling and analysis. more...

Landfill Gas
Landfill gas can be collected and analyzed using Entech
MiniCan samplers. "No pump" sampling is performed
using the self-contained vacuum in the MiniCan, which
considerably simplifies the sampling process relative
to Tedlar bags. Sample holding times are up to several
weeks due to the dense, inert Silonite™ coating
used to line the inside of MiniCans.

 |
Soil Gas
Soil gas samples can be collected in Entech MiniCans
to determine concentrations of organic compounds and
solvents which could ultimately end up in water supplies
without redemption. MiniCans are compatible with all
soil probes from Entech. Solvent Enhancement Enclosure
(SEE) can also be used to concentrate surface gases
before sampling.

Sulfur Analysis
Sulfur compounds can be collected in Silonite™
coated stainless steel canisters and stored up to several
weeks without significant loss while awaiting analysis.
Evacuated canisters are easy to use, eliminating the
need for power during the sampling process. Sample collection
can be performed quickly (grab sample) or over a several
hour period to find average concentrations. If required
detection limits are in the high PPB to PPM range, Canisters
can be analyzed using loop injection sample introduction
into GCs with sulfur specific detectors. For low and
sub-PPB level measurements, the 7100 Preconcentrator
can concentrate up to 1000 cc of sample, allowing detection
by either sulfur specific detectors or by mass spectrometry.
Most sulfur compounds can be monitored down to or below
their odor threshold.
MiniCans have quick connect fittings that reduce the
time needed to make connections to samplers, analyzers,
and cleaners, especially when large numbers of samples
are involved. The rugged construction makes the MiniCan
ideal not only for environmental sampling, but also
as a replacement for more fragile glass bottle samplers
and absorptive Tedlar bags used in refineries and chemical
research facilities.

Process Monitoring - Volatile Sulfur in Process
Gas
Sulfur gases are a byproduct of petroleum refining
and must be monitored in many product, waste, and exhaust
streams. Stack emission of sulfur compounds can lower
pH of surrounding streams and lakes through the generation
of acid rain. Transmission of sulfur compounds in feed
streams to petrochemical refining operations can result
in shortened catalyst lifetimes due to the poisoning
effect brought on by sulfur compounds.
Entech has developed a new coating called Silonite™
that allows sampling cylinders to collect and store
process gases for later analysis of their sulfur content.
Hydrogen sulfide, COS, Mercaptans, and Sulfides are
all stable in these coated stainless steel vessels to
fully eliminate contact with the underlying stainless
steel.
