ENTECH TRAINING - AIR ACADEMY

Next Air Academy is coming soon

Where VOC Experts from around the world come to train.

"One four-day course will produce the most valuable resource your lab can have: a confident, high-level resident VOC analysis expert."

Dan Cardin,

President,

Entech Instruments.

Section 1: Theory

Students will first be introduced to Entech and its products. For each product, the student will learn in detail about its basic function, key features, theoretical basis and technical operation. Discussion of VOC preconcentration theory and gas chromatography serves as a foundation for an in-depth look
at the Preconcentrator, Auto-samplers (source and ambient level) Dynamic Dilutor, and Canister Cleaner.

Topics

  • Description of Entech products.
  • Sampling techniques.
  • Preconcentration and gas chromatography.
  • Making analytical standards.
  • Introduction to Large Volume Static Headspace analysis (LVSH) and Pulsed Vacuum

Extraction Headspace (PVEH) analysis for liquid and solid samples.

Section 2: Operation

This section will familiarize both the novice and experienced user with the actual operation of

Entech's VOC analysis products. The students will be given a detailed orientation to each

instrument's software and how to set up automated operations and interpret results.

The entire pathway from sample to gas chromatograph will be traced and discussed. Hands-on

time will give students the opportunity to run the instruments using time-saving techniques.

Topics

  • Preparing standards using static and dynamic methods.
  • 7100 Preconcentrator Operation.
  • Preparing for operation.
  • Creating methods.
  • Creating sequence tables.
  • Running standards.

Section 3: Installation, Maintenance and Troubleshooting

The purpose of Section 3 is to prepare students to install, maintain and troubleshoot

their VOC analysis equipment, since technically prepared workers can substantially

minimize the downtime experienced in their laboratories. In this section students will

perform a complete installation of the 7100 Preconcentration System on a capillary

GC/MS and learn how to diagnose and repair common problems using the manual

operation modes of the instruments.

Topics

  • Considering site requirements.
  • Reviewing computer requirements.
  • Interfacing with your GC/MS.
  • System leak checking.
  • Using diagnostic programs.
  • Examining QA/QC reports.
